We took a look at how much Sexy Fish, Bar Bello, Wax On, Silk and Fizz, and Paradiso spend to keep the cocktails coming, and found they throw outan average of 600 glasses per year. At a price of $7 per glass, that adds up to over $4,000 spent annually just on replacements… and in reality, it can be a lot more. With many of these bars using premium or even custom glassware, like in the case of Paradiso, some venues can be spending up to €20,000 per year. Thankfully, many have taken matters into their own hands by repairing chipped glasses through techniques like torching the edges, or even fully restoring broken glassware using Kintsugi 🔥. There are probably even more ways to reduce the cost of broken glassware out there, but if you run a bar, I’d love to know how many glasses you replace each week. Cheers 🥂!
