Kumquats are one of my favorite citrus, but they are difficult to use in cocktails because they have very little yield when you juice them, so today I’ll teach you a cocktail hack to get 30x more kumquat juice! After the original Super Juice episode blew up there were a lot of you who asked how to get more juice out of other fruits, including the tiny kumquat. Although they might look like a love child between an orange and a cherry tomato, they pack a mixture of sweet & tart flavors so I’ll turn them into Super Juice to make them easier to mix in cocktails, while still having plenty of kumquat flavor. I’ll also make 3 Super Juice cocktails with them that everyone can enjoy - a St Remy Cognac Sour, Maker’s Mark Whisky Sour & Plymouth Tom Collins - so pull up a chair and get your precision scale ready for today’s diy mixology lesson.
